In case you didn’t catch the hint from the name, Florida, or The Sunshine State as it is more affectionately known, is just the place for you sun-worshippers out there. But how do you choose the best spot? With all those beaches, this can prove quite the conundrum. Fortunately, there is a solution to this. Why not hire a car Florida style and hop around from beautiful beach to beautiful beach? Now that sounds like a great option. To help you plan your car journey, here are just a few of Florida’s must-see beaches…
South Beach, Miami
This is the spot for you if you are proud of your bikini body and want a place to flaunt it. Known as a place to see and be seen, Miami’s South Beach is full of scantily clad posers with perfect suntans who have quite clearly made the most of the high concentration of plastic surgeons who call the area home. Think art deco architecture combined with neon lights, golden sands and more fast cars, super yachts and jet skis than you can shake a stick at.
Siesta Beach, Siesta Key
Often proudly securing the title as the US’s very best beach, Siesta Beach definitely deserves a little of your sunbathing time and is easy to get to via the medium of your super handy hire car. The beach is known for having fine white sand that your feet will sink into on your way to the emerald green waters and which stays cool no matter how hot the temperature. The water in this crescent shaped beach is calm, warm and basically, the thing that dreams are made of. Plus, you can watch the sunset over the Gulf from here – now doesn’t that sound wonderful?
New Smyrna
This spot is perhaps best described as the complete polar opposite of South Beach. A popular spot with surfers because it has arguably the best surfing in the state, this beach has a way more chilled out vibe and you are unlikely to see a muscle car or a poser of any kind – those that frequent this beach tend to be so laid-back that even the shark fins in the water don’t put them off! Fear not – these are just tiny sharks and present no threat to swimmers or surfers! Are you laid back enough?
