Avebury Stone Circle England My friend drove my dad and I out to the Salisbury Plain yesterday, where we took a walk around the rocks and through the fields making up the grounds of the Avebury stone circle. It’s a cousin to nearby Stonehenge, but much larger and more spread out with more opportunities to get up close and touch the stones, as my father is doing below in his efforts to keep it from tipping over.Avebury Stone Circle England Dad holding up the rocks

How fantastic! I’ve been to Stonehenge – I’d love to visit this too. It looks fascinating

Never heard of this place. Good to know there is a poor man’s Stonehenge out there and also good to know people are going to great lengths to keep the stones from falling.
